I've had four awesome sessions so far, and I learn something new every time. It's been so much fun! However, what has been slightly less fun is the post-processing that follows the shoot. Doing so many sessions made it apparent very quickly that my workflow is taking much longer than I ever realized.
So, my next action was easy to predict. I set out to improve my workflow, and finally understand exactly what the purpose of Lightroom really is. Apparently it's purpose is to solve this exact problem, but the irony is that a great way to slow down an already slow process is to change it to something new and different. "Investment" I keep telling myself, it's an investment in the free time I dream of having someday in the future.
Finally these long nights of investment are starting to pay off, and there is light at the end of the tunnel. If you too have been struggling to understand Lightroom, and pondering the age old question "where did my picture go?" I recommend Scott Kelby's book Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Book for Digital Photographers.
